Preston is a finance and entrepreneurship major at UND. He has also received a associates degree in electrical technology from the North Dakota State College of Science. He has a strong interest in start up companies after being involved in his father's manufacturing company in Bottineau, ND.

Nathan Carpenter, Managing Director

Reigning from the capital city of Bismarck, North Dakota, Nathan is currently pursuing a B.B.A. in Entrepreneurship. He has been an associate of the Dakota Venture Group since the fall of 2007 and participates in the local Valley Angel Investment Fund as well. In the summer of 2008, Nathan interned at the Idea Center – a business incubator- in Bismarck, North Dakota. He admires the innovative spirit and ambition of the field of entrepreneurship. He also has his sights set on matriculating into medical school. He believes in angel investing and feels privileged to have the opportunity to do what he does through Dakota Venture Group. 

Daniel Horak, Managing Director

Daniel R. Horak is the North Dakota field agent at the UND Center for Innovation for the state's angel funds. Graduating from UND with a degree in Entrepreneurship, Dan is currently in graduate school at the University of North Dakota pursuing an MBA with a focus in Entrepreneurial Finance. Dan has been an active member of the Dakota Venture Group since 2008 and serves as the VP of Business Development. During his undergraduate years Dan invested in real estate and currently owns multiple properties near the University campus. Coming from Rosemount, Minnesota, Dan appreciates the opportunities and learning experiences that he's been given and looks forward to future challenges and rewards.

Michael Carlson, Managing Director

Michael discovered a new passion for business and entrepreneurship during his junior year at the University of North Dakota. While pursuing degrees in Psychology and Art, Michael enrolled in the Entrepreneurship program. Since joining the Dakota Venture Group in February 2008, Michael has served as Secretary, intern on the Fosston and Fargo Angel Funds, member of the Screening Committee, and currently serves as the VP of Information Technology and Operations. Michael plans to take his diverse academic background and pursue a lifestyle centered around the creative entrepreneurial spirit.

Satchall Schettler, Managing Director

Satchall is from Bismarck, ND and has been involved with Dakota Venture Group since February 2008. Being the son of an entrepreneur, Satchall has allowed himself to cultivate unique networking skills, and follow in the footsteps of his entrepreneur father. Satchall is currently pursuing undergraduate degrees in both Marketing and Entrepreneurship and has continued to develop expertise in the field of brand management.
