Dakota Venture Group's professional managing directors and managing associates bring an array of diverse entrepreneurial backgrounds to the investment process. The DVG students are educated in a variety of backgrounds, and all share a passion for entrepreneurship and the opportunities brought forth by venture capital.

Managing Directors

	Alex Naastad, President anaastad@dakotaventuregroup.com Originally from Grand Forks, ND, Alexandra moved to Orange County, CA to study International Business and Economics at Chapman University. After graduation, she moved to Mammoth Lakes, CA and worked for a small property management firm. Missing her Midwest roots, Alexandra moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a personal assistant for a high profile family for two years. Wishing to pursue further education, Alexandra enrolled in the MBA program at UND. She has taken advantage of a number of experiential learning opportunities, including a summer fieldwork in China as well as the student run venture fund, Dakota Venture Group. In her free time Alexandra enjoys traveling, playing tennis, spending time with friends and family, and reading.

	Josh Rosard, VP of IT & Operations jrosard@dakotaventuregroup.com Josh joined DVG as a fund manager in March 2011. Originally from Philadelphia, PA, he is studying Aviation Management at the University of North Dakota and works as a flight instructor for UND Aerospace. In his free time, Josh can be found outdoors, travelling, or visiting with friends and family.

	Kristin Heck, VP of Marketing kheck@dakotaventuregroup.com Kristin joined DVG as a fund manager in the Spring of 2011. Prior to returning to school she worked for Towers Watson (formerly Watson Wyatt) in the pension technology division. A graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University, her focus had primarily been human resource consulting until returning to school in the fall of 2009 seeking her JD/MBA. When she is not at the Center for Innovation or on campus she enjoys traveling and training for her first marathon.

	Ryan Shane, VP of Finance rshane@dakotaventuregroup.com Ryan joined DVG in March 2011. He is in the final year of his Accountancy major. This summer he is going to work on studying for his CPA exam and complete it by December.

	Austin Schweer, VP of Business Development aschweer@dakotaventuregroup.com Austin joined DVG in March 2011 as a Fund Manager. Originally from Devils Lake, ND, Austin is majoring in Investments at the University of North Dakota. Following graduation (expected May 2013), he will be pursuing a career in the financial services industry. Austin enjoys snowboarding, hockey and hanging out with friends.
