Matt has been involved with Dakota Venture Group since April 2007. Originally from Hutchinson, MN, he will be finishing up his undergraduate education this in August 2007 with a degree in both Marketing and Entrepreneurship.  He has been heavily involved in new venture creation for two years and has a passion for angel investing. He spent most of 2007 working for RAIN Source Capital, an angel investing network in the Midwest.

Amy is an MBA student at the University of North Dakota, where she also received a BBA in Information Systems. She has a passion for economic development and growth in the region, which was fostered by growing up in rural Cavalier, North Dakota. Amy is currently a consultant at the Center for Innovation where she specializes in writing business plans, creating websites, and performing grant research.

Shannon Pearson, Managing Director

Shannon received her BBA in Marketing with a focus in entrepreneurship from the University of North Dakota where she is currently an MBA student. The majority of her work experience has been related to marketing, but she is naturally drawn to the opportunities associated with entrepreneurial endeavors. Shannon is focusing her MBA studies on creating a new valuation method for start-up companies.

Chris Virta , Managing Director

Chris is a second year law and MBA student at the University of North Dakota. Originally from Duluth, Minnesota, he earned a BA in International Management from Hamline University.  Chris has a strong interest in promoting economic development in the region and understanding the evolving role the Upper-Midwest plays in the global economy.  Throughout his academic career Chris has continuously been recognized for academic excellence and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. 

Dan Waind , Managing Director

Dan is a second year MBA student at the University of North Dakota, where he is also working on Majors in Entrepreneurship and Marketing, with a Minor in International Business.  During the school year, Dan is the teaching assistant to the Entrepreneurship program at UND, which allows him the opportunity to interact with many young entrepreneurs.  Dan also works with his own business as a consultant to entrepreneurs with start-up ventures.  Dan is focusing his MBA on valuation methods for start-up companies and plans to continue his work in private equity in the future.
